Renting

Who can rent a car from LARP?

Anyone aged 21 or over with a valid licence can rent our standard cars. Luxury cars and supercars require you to be 25 or over. Residents need a UAE licence held for at least a year; visitors can drive on their home licence, usually alongside an international driving permit.

How far in advance should I book?

A day or two is usually enough. For the Rolls-Royces, the Lamborghinis and anything over a public holiday or a race weekend, give us a week — those go first.

Can I rent for just a few hours?

Our rates start at one day. If you need a car for a shoot or an event for a few hours, message us with the times and we will quote you for it.

What is the shortest and longest I can rent for?

One day is the minimum. There is no maximum — monthly rates are considerably cheaper per day, and we arrange long leases regularly.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes. Cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before delivery. Inside 48 hours the deposit is forfeited. To change dates, message us and we will move the booking if the car is free.

Can someone else drive the car?

Only if they are named on the rental agreement and meet the same age and licence requirements. An unnamed driver voids the insurance completely, so tell us before you hand over the keys.

Do you rent to UAE residents as well as tourists?

Both. Residents need an Emirates ID and a UAE driving licence; visitors need a passport with a valid entry stamp and their home licence.

Documents

What documents do I need as a tourist?

Your passport with the entry stamp or visa, your home country's driving licence, and an international driving permit. Some nationalities are exempt from the permit requirement — tell us which passport you hold and we will confirm before you arrive.

What documents do I need as a UAE resident?

Your Emirates ID and your UAE driving licence, which must have been held for at least a year.

Do I need an international driving permit?

It depends on your nationality — a number of countries are exempt. Send us a photo of your licence and we will tell you straight away rather than have you find out at hand-over.

Do I have to send my documents before delivery?

Yes, photographs of them on WhatsApp. It is what lets us have the paperwork done before the car reaches you, so hand-over takes minutes rather than an hour.

Do you need a credit card in my name?

Yes. The security deposit is held on a credit card belonging to the person named on the rental agreement. We cannot hold a deposit on someone else's card.

Money

How does the deposit work?

We hold an amount on your credit card for the duration of the rental. It is a hold, not a charge — nothing leaves your account unless there is damage, a fine or a toll to settle. It is released after the car comes back, typically within 14 to 30 days, because fines can take that long to appear.

What is included in the price?

Comprehensive insurance, delivery and collection anywhere in Dubai, 250 km per day, and support on WhatsApp for as long as you have the car.

What is not included?

Fuel, Salik road tolls, traffic and parking fines, and any kilometres beyond the daily allowance. Tolls and fines are billed at cost with an administration fee.

Why do your rates change?

Demand in Dubai moves with the season, and longer rentals cost less per day. That is why the rate you are quoted on WhatsApp is for your dates specifically, rather than a number that is out of date the week after it is published.

How do I pay?

The deposit goes on a credit card. The rental itself can be settled by card or bank transfer. We confirm the total in writing on WhatsApp before anything is charged.

What happens if I get a fine or a Salik toll?

Salik tolls and traffic fines are charged at cost plus an administration fee, settled against your deposit. We send you the record of each one so you can see exactly what it was and when.

Is there a discount for a week or a month?

Yes — weekly rates are cheaper per day than daily, and monthly cheaper again. The site quotes you the best combination automatically, so a 29-day rental is never priced above a 30-day one.

What is the insurance excess?

Every car is covered comprehensively, with an excess that varies by tier. We tell you the exact figure for your car before you book, so it is never a surprise.

What voids the insurance?

Driving off-road, racing or track use, driving under the influence, letting an unnamed driver take the wheel, or taking the car out of the UAE without written permission.

The car

How many kilometres are included?

250 km per day, which is more than enough for Dubai and a run out to Abu Dhabi. Beyond that there is a per-kilometre charge, which we confirm per car — tell us if you are planning a long trip and we will quote a higher allowance instead.

What is the fuel policy?

Same to same. The car arrives with a given level of fuel and should come back at that level. No refuelling fee, no charge for a full tank you did not use.

Can I take the car to Abu Dhabi or Sharjah?

Yes, anywhere in the UAE. Taking the car across the border to Oman or Saudi Arabia needs written permission in advance and separate insurance.

What happens if the car breaks down?

Message us. Assistance is arranged for you and, if the car cannot be fixed quickly, we replace it. You are not left to sort it out yourself.

What if I damage the car?

Tell us immediately and file a police report — in the UAE, insurance will not pay out without one. The comprehensive cover then applies and you are liable only for the excess.

Are the cars the exact ones in the photographs?

Yes. Every photograph on this site is of the actual car you will be given, in the colour shown. Where a car has no photographs yet, we say so rather than showing you a stock image of a different one.

Delivery

Do you deliver to the airport?

Yes, to both DXB and DWC, and to any hotel, villa or office in Dubai. Delivery within Dubai is included in the rate. Tell us your terminal and landing time and the car will be waiting.

How quickly can I get a car?

Often the same day. Message us with the car and the time you need it and we will tell you honestly whether we can make it.

Do you deliver outside Dubai?

Yes, to the other emirates for a delivery fee that depends on the distance. Ask us and we will quote it with the rate.

What happens at hand-over?

We walk you around the car with you, note any existing marks together, check the fuel level, and show you the controls. It takes about ten minutes. Collection at the end works the same way.

Still not sure?

Tell us the car and the dates and we will answer everything in one message.
